After months of dedication and training, we’re thrilled to share that Doris has officially qualified as a guide dog and has been partnered with Sue.

For Sue, who has lived with a visual impairment since birth, being matched with Doris has been life-changing. After spending nearly three years without a guide dog, she had lost much of the confidence and independence that a guide dog brings. From the moment they began training together, Doris proved to be a perfect match.

At home, Doris is playful, affectionate and full of character. In harness, she is calm, focused and dependable, taking new environments in her stride. Together, she and Sue have already enjoyed their first adventures, including a two-hour train journey, and their partnership continues to grow stronger every day.

We’re incredibly proud to have supported Doris from her early training through to qualification. Knowing that she has helped restore Sue’s independence is a wonderful reminder of the life-changing work carried out by Guide Dogs. We wish Doris and Sue every happiness as they begin this exciting new chapter together.
