February 2021 - Property Market Comment

At the time of writing this, we still don’t know whether the government will extend the stamp duty holiday deadline but this does not seem to be causing any consternation amongst buyers in the Southwell and Newark housing markets, says Chris Pick from independent estate agents, Alasdair Morrison & Partners.

In fact the local housing market has quite a momentum at present fuelled by a lack of housing stock in certain price bands. This means that when keenly priced property does come onto the market, it’s creating a bit of a buyer frenzy at the moment.

At Alasdair Morrison & Partners we offer our qualified and registered buyers a first look at properties newly coming to the market before they are posted to our website and online property portals and this approach has resulted in a significant number of quick offers and sales this year. It seems to us that buyers are very keen to secure the right property at the right price and in the right area.

At present, my diary remains very busy around Southwell as sellers take advantage of motivated buyers to realise their own plans to perhaps move closer to family or make lifestyle changes.

The correct pricing remains key to a quick sale and our local property professionals are experts at reading the housing market.  If your property has been for sale without any real interest within the first six to eight weeks then we would be happy to speak to you to introduce fresh buyers and hopefully a quick sale.
